The Full Story

Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Haitian immigrants, Christian’s upbringing unfolded amidst a rich tapestry of cultural experiences. Raised by his extended family in Montreal, Canada, with summers in Brooklyn and a period spent in Haiti, he navigated a mosaic of influences that shaped his linguistic fluency and deepened his curiosity for life’s nuances.

Christian's artistic journey began at New York's HB Studios. Studying acting under notable figures like Anne Jackson and Auston Pendleton exposed him to the world of European filmmaking, a style that captured his heart. Subsequently, he immersed himself, laying the groundwork for his future creative pursuits.

This included a short film written and directed by Christian titled ‘April in Blue,’ inspired by Ingmar Bergman and Andrei Tarkovsky, which played a pivotal role in his creative exploration.

The transition from acting to visual arts became a natural evolution for Christian. Initially starting by documenting his dreams, feelings, and observations in a journal, he developed a strong desire to express the inner language of his soul through a different type of medium.

Driven by a passion to find a new outlet for artistic expression, he embarked on a journey of experimentation, combining abstract paintings with poetry to explore profound existential themes. Being self-taught, he shared 365 of his pieces on social media in 2016-2017.

Beyond the canvas, a yearning to give back and serve led Christian to volunteer as an art teacher at The Fort Hamilton Senior Center. Witnessing the rekindling of seniors’ childlike curiosity added a meaningful dimension to his artistic endeavors.

Amidst his artistic pursuits, a pivotal moment in October 2021—an almost fatal encounter with undiagnosed diabetes—prompted a transformative lifestyle change. In just three months, Christian defied the odds and reversed his condition, emerging with a newfound appreciation and vigor for life and creativity.

Considering his diverse cultural background, and the roles he embodies as a philosopher, actor, visual artist, writer, and filmmaker, the world eagerly anticipates the imaginative works that will emerge from the depths of his soul on the other side of his recent personal metamorphosis.
